How to Clean Quartzite Countertops

Care & Guides

Quartzite countertops offer a beautiful natural stone look and excellent durability, but they should be cared for properly to help preserve their finish and appearance over time.

For daily cleaning, a soft microfiber cloth or sponge with warm water is usually sufficient. If needed, a gentle stone-safe cleaner may be used. It is generally best to avoid acidic, abrasive, or overly aggressive cleaning products, especially on polished or honed finishes.

Quartzite is a natural stone, which means each slab can vary in density, porosity, and surface behavior. Some quartzite surfaces may be more resistant than others, but in most cases it is still recommended to wipe up spills quickly—especially oils, wine, coffee, sauces, and acidic substances.

Heavy impact, especially near corners, sink cutouts, or unsupported overhangs, should be avoided. While quartzite is strong, natural stone can still chip or crack if force is applied in the wrong area.

Depending on the material and finish, some quartzite countertops may benefit from sealing. If there is any uncertainty about long-term maintenance, professional guidance is always recommended.
